INTERVIEW: TRAVEL APP PROTOTYPE TEST (HI-FIDELITY) #1

Interview #1: Choose a Flight

 Positive Feedback:

  •  Found the process of selecting a flight to be streamlined and logical
  • Appreciated seeing nearby airport options like San Francisco and Oakland (recent places)
    • Note: “Recent Places” is from travel history
  •  Liked the suggestive search feature that showed destination suggestions when typing
  •  The calendar and passenger selection process were familiar and worked well for her
  •  Overall presentation, including airport codes, duration, and prices, to be clear and useful
  • Likes the idea of having featured destinations suggested by the app, as well as the ability to save potential trips for future reference

 Suggestions for Improvements:

  • Suggested that the app should start with selecting the departure airport instead of the destination, as it aligns more with how she plans her trips
  • Proposed having both departure and destination input boxes visible from the start
  • Prefers using a calendar over typing in dates but suggested adding a dropdown menu for selecting months to improve navigation
  • She noted that if arrows for navigation between months are used that arrows are large and responsive
  • Increase the contrast and visibility of dates on the calendar, particularly for overlapping months, to enhance user experience
  • Replace “0 stops” with “nonstop” to avoid confusion
  • Clarify the meaning of “stops” by indicating whether it involves plane changes or just layovers
  • Emphasized the importance of displaying prices prominently and considering availability
  • Suggested showing sold out flights to provide a sense of urgency and availability context
  • Indicating limited availability (eg, “only 10 tickets left at this price”) can prompt quicker decisions
