DEFINING OBJECTIVES: HYPOTHETICAL APP

You have a great idea for an app that will benefit your community, but there are challenges. You lack the technical expertise to develop the app yourself and don’t have the funds to hire developers. Fortunately, a friend of a friend is interested in investing in your idea, connecting you with developers, and helping you find early users. However, the investor will only proceed if you demonstrate that you’ve thought through the project and can execute it effectively.

Proposed Name of the App

MangeMoble (Mange, French for “eat” and Mobile, because its an app)

Brief Description:

Connect the villages of the Grand Narbonne region (France) with the various food trucks and vendors that come to the villages daily so that village residents can know their schedules and place orders ahead of time.

High-Level Purpose:

Connect village residents with the mobile vendors of the Grand Narbonne region.

Two (2) S.M.A.R.T. Goals:

S.M.A.R.T. Goal #1:

  • Specific: Develop a mobile app for the Grand Narbonne region that allows residents to view the daily schedules of food trucks and vendors visiting their villages and place orders in advance.
  • Measurable: Introduce the app to 70% of the villages in the Grand Narbonne region and sign up 40 vendors and food trucks within the first 6 months of launch.
  • Achievable: Partner with local food trucks and vendors, utilizing their existing community channels for promotion and collaboration with village Mairie (city hall) to ensure successful implementation.
  • Relevant: This app will improve accessibility to food services for village residents, increasing convenience and help to support other local vendors by boosting pre-orders and sales.
  • Time-bound: Launch the mobile app within 12 months, with a beta version available for testing in six months and full deployment to all villages in the region by the end of the first year.

S.M.A.R.T. Goal #2:

  • Specific: A centralized SMS-based message system that sends daily notifications to Grand Narbonne village residents about which food trucks and vendors are visiting, along with their available menu and order options.
  • Measurable: Within the first 6 months, aim for 50% of Grand Narbonne residents who don’t have smart phones to opt into the SMS service, with 50% of them actively using it to place at least one order per month.
  • Achievable: Work with local telecom providers to ensure seamless SMS delivery.
  • Relevant: This system will provide a low-tech, easily accessible solution for residents without smartphones to access the same features as the app.
  • Time-bound: Implement the SMS service within 6 months, with a pilot launch in 3 villages within the first 3 months, expanding to all villages in the Grand Narbonne region by the 6-month mark.
